I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Film Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, where I principally teach academic writing.

Between 2014-16, I was a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) postdoctoral fellow at the Department of English at Harvard University.

My interdisciplinary research engages with issues surrounding gender, art, and work in British women’s writing of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. I have published in multiple journals, have co-authored a chapter with Eleanor Ty, and haveforthcoming entries on five eighteenth-century novels in The Cambridge Guide to the Eighteenth-Century Novel, 1660-1820, edited by April London.

I am also interested in the medical humanities, with a focus on literary representations of illness.
